Galle Lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse in Sri Lanka, located within the historic Galle Fort on the southwest coast of the island.

Standing at 26.5 meters, the original structure, built by the British in 1848, was destroyed by fire in 1936. It was then reconstructed in 1939, 100 meters from the original site.
